About Me
My name is Tobias Augsburg-Jürgens, and I am a nature educator and magician from Hamburg. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the vibrant world of nature – watching insects and lizards in the sandbox and experiencing wonders that continue to shape who I am today.
My passion for nature first led me to study biology. During my studies, I became acquainted with the Hamburger Kindersafaris and quickly realized that working with children in nature was particularly fulfilling. Inspired by this experience, I began working as a nature educator and repeatedly experienced how important direct contact with nature – especially in urban areas – is for child development.
To further deepen my pedagogical knowledge and enhance my professionalism in working with children, I completed a part-time training as a state-recognized educator. For over ten years now, I have been active in nature education in Hamburger kindergartens, primary schools, and after-school programs. Today, I combine my biological and pedagogical knowledge to convey the fascination of nature to children in a playful way and to inspire them to adopt a conscious, sustainable approach to their environment.
I discovered my fascination for magic early on through my grandfather, who performed as a magician at my childhood birthday parties and taught me my first tricks. After a long break, this passion was reignited in 2015 at a market in London, and I devoted myself intensively to practicing and developing new tricks so that I could incorporate them into my work with children. Working part-time in a Hamburg nightclub allowed me to refine my magic for an adult audience too.

Offers
Nature Education & Forest Excursions
In my offerings, children experience the fascinating interconnections of nature up close. Based on the concept "The Living Soil," they learn how falling leaves are transformed into fertile soil through the work of decomposers. With interactive activities such as the "Soil Ladder" and the "Magnifying Glass Safari," they discover the diversity of living beings that populate the forest floor. These nature-educational units not only enhance scientific understanding but also strengthen social skills, creativity, and motor abilities – all within an engaging and sustainable framework.
Furthermore, I also offer entertaining and informative magnifying glass safaris for curious, young-at-heart adults – experiences that sharpen the eye for the subtleties of nature.
For kindergartens and schools, I organize one-time or regularly scheduled forest excursions as well as other nature-educational offerings – for example, I visit kindergartens with a pair of hissing cockroaches to introduce children to the direct handling of these fascinating little creatures.

Birthday Parties in the Forest and at Home
For children's birthday parties, I offer two distinct concepts: In the forest, I host nature-based birthday parties where children not only enjoy a small magic performance, but also actively explore nature and learn through playful experiences. At home or in indoor settings, I present a classic magic show combined with creative balloon modeling – a combination that leaves children delighted and creates unforgettable memories.

Magic Shows on Events
My magic performances combine classic tricks with modern elements and are designed for both children and adults. Whether at parties, weddings or other events, my magic consistently delivers moments of surprise and entertaining highlights.

My Philosophy
I am firmly convinced that direct contact with nature is essential for the holistic development of children. In my nature-education programs, I emphasize experiential learning, through which children discover the complex interrelationships of our environment with all their senses. They learn how organic material is transformed into fertile soil through the activity of microorganisms – a process that not only imparts scientific insights but also reveals the beauty and dynamism of nature.
For me, nature education means much more than mere knowledge transfer. It fosters creativity, independence, and social skills by enabling children to actively explore and shape their environment. This practical, sensory approach forms the foundation for a sustainable and respectful relationship with our world.
My work is based on the principle that learning should engage all the senses – with mind, hands, and heart. By combining nature-education experiences with inspiring elements, I aim to encourage both children and adults to experience the wonders of nature and to adopt a conscious, responsible approach toward it.
