1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

No data protection officer has been appointed, as the legal requirements for doing so are not met.

2. Overview

This website is deliberately kept lean. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services, embeds no third-party content and loads fonts only from its own server. Personal data is processed in two cases only: when pages are retrieved (server log files) and when you contact me via the contact form, by email or by phone.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. The server is located in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. For fast delivery, Hostinger uses its own content delivery network as part of the hosting service. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hostinger.

Each time the website is accessed, the web server automatically processes the following data transmitted by your browser and stores it in log files:

• IP address of the accessing device
• date and time of access
• page or file requested and amount of data transferred
• browser type and version and operating system (user agent)
• the previously visited page, if your browser transmits it (referrer)

This processing serves the secure and stable operation of the website, defence against attacks and error analysis. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the security and functionality of the website. The log files are deleted automatically after 14 days. They are not combined with other data or analysed for marketing purposes.

4. Contact form

If you use the contact form, I process the details you enter (name, email address, occasion, message and, if provided, phone number) as well as the time of submission. The details are sent as an email to my mailbox and stored there. To protect against automated requests (spam), a check value (hash) of your IP address is also stored on the server for one hour to limit the number of requests per address. The IP address cannot be derived from this check value.

The purpose of processing is to answer your enquiry and prepare a possible booking. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry is aimed at a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling enquiries). Providing the data is voluntary, but the form cannot be sent without name, email address, occasion and message.

Your data is deleted once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. If a booking results, the data is processed further to perform the contract and retained for the commercial and tax retention periods of up to ten years.

5. Contact by email or phone

If you contact me by email or phone, I process the data you provide in order to deal with your request. Section 4 applies accordingly with regard to purpose, legal basis and storage period. Please note that unencrypted emails can be read by third parties in transit.

Messages from the contact form are sent via the mail server of Hostinger International Ltd. (address in section 3). My mailbox is operated by 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH (GMX), Brauerstraße 48, 76135 Karlsruhe, Germany. Both providers process the data as processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

6. Disclosure of data

Your data is only passed on to third parties where this is necessary for the purposes stated (hosting and email providers as processors), where I am legally obliged to do so or where you have consented. Data is not transferred to countries outside the European Union. There is no automated individual decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

7. Encryption

The website is only accessible via an encrypted connection (HTTPS, TLS). Data you send via the contact form is therefore encrypted on its way to my server.

8. Cookies, tracking and embedded services

This website sets no cookies and stores no comparable identifiers on your device. No analytics or tracking services, advertising networks or social media features are used. No content is loaded from third-party servers, in particular no fonts, maps, videos or scripts. The typefaces Poppins and Montserrat are hosted on this server. For this reason, no cookie notice is required.

The website contains a few links to external websites. Data is only transmitted to them when you click such a link. The operator of the linked website is responsible for the processing there.

9. Your rights

With regard to your personal data, you have the following rights:

• access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
• withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)

Right to object: Where I process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). I will then no longer process the data unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

An informal message to the contact details above is sufficient to exercise your rights.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
